Pori Art Museum

Pori Art Museum is a contemporary art museum founded in 1981, known for its high quality temporary exhibitions. The exhibitions showcase current phenomena in international and Finnish art and highlight pressing social issues. As the regional museum of responsibility for Satakunta, the museum's collections and archives focus on modernism and recent art. Pori Art Museum's core collection is the collection of the Maire Gullichsen Art Foundation. The museum also maintains the art collection of the City of Pori, about half of which is displayed in the city's offices. The collections include domestic and international contemporary art from the early 20th century to the present day. The Pori Art Museum is located in buiding built in 1860 on Pori's Eteläranta. The museum building also houses a cellar ruin dating back to the 17th century.
