THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF FINNISH ANIMATION

Finnish animation celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2014. The aim of the anniversary year is to highlight current creators in the field and showcase the diversity of Finnish animation. The spring season program at Pori Art Museum’s Rappu Hall will feature high-quality animated works by directors at the early stages of their careers as well as internationally acclaimed creators. The goal of the Screenaus series is to provide a broad overview of non-commercial contemporary animations produced in Finland in recent years. The series is organized in collaboration with regional artist Taru Anttila from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Pori office).
Admission to the screenings is free. Children must be accompanied by adults.

During the 100th anniversary of Finnish animation, a wide selection of contemporary non-commercial animation will be screened in 3 week screening sequences.
