FINNISH PAINTERS’ UNION 60 YEARS
PRESS RELEASE
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Finnish Painters’ Union presents a selection of contemporary Finnish art at the Nordic Art Centre (May 16–June 11, 1989) and the Pori Art Museum (May 19–June 14, 1989). Sixteen visual artists from various regions have been invited to participate. Both exhibitions are intended to be equal in content, facilitating an encounter between multiple generations of visual artists.
The exhibitions aim to provide opportunities for young artists who have yet to establish their place in the prevailing art scene. They seek to spark dialogue between different art movements and shed light on the phenomena of our time, each artist expressing these through their works in their unique way.
