FINE ART FROM THE REGION OF SATAKUNTA

The opening exhibition at the Pori City Art Museum presents a selection of art from the region of Satakunta, giving a snapshot of the current state and aspirations of art in the province. An extensive overview is not possible at this stage, as the exhibition is limited by the small space available while the renovation of the museum building is still in progress. On the other hand, the organisers of the exhibition have also sought to achieve a larger than usual grouping of works by each of the participating artists in order to achieve integrity and continuity.

The exhibition of forty works presents paintings and prints by seven artists from Satakunta. They include Hannu Artinaho from Rauma, Aarne Elomaa from Pori, Anja Karkku-Hohti from Noormarkku, Ensio Lamberg from Kankaanpää, Into Linturi from Vammala, Pekka Solin from Mouhijärvi and Immo Tuominen from Rauma.
