PORI 1986 – PHOTOGRAPHS AND PAINTINGS – TIMO VALJAKKA

PRESS RELEASE

Artist and critic Timo Valjakka has spent a month working in the art museum’s studio. Pori 1986, a body of work comprising photographs and paintings, is the result of this creative period and is now on display in the museum’s small exhibition hall. The exhibition features two series of paintings and one series of color photographs, forming a carefully considered and minimalist whole.

Timo Valjakka is neither an architectural nor environmental photographer. For him, a building serves as a subject from which unexpected perspectives emerge, providing raw material for his art. During the summer and autumn, he has photographed scenes including the riverscape visible from the museum’s window and the Pori Vocational School.
