THE SIXTH SCULPTURE – Veijo Setälä
What can be found in the depths of a contemporary art museum’s art storage? How are artworks inventoried? What stories can these pieces tell us? How is art preserved for future generations? In the museum’s spring Hands-On! themed workshops, school students delve into the museum’s collection work. Guided by the museum’s collection curator, students explore the art storage and engage in hands-on museum work. The workshops are inspired by visual artist Veijo Setälä’s Landscape of Five Sculptures series (1992 / Pori City Art Collection). The exhibition showcases the workshops and reveals the mysterious “sixth sculpture.”
In collaboration with artist Veijo Setälä and the Pori Children’s Culture Center.
