ART TESTERS

The Art Testers project brings eighth-graders from Satakunta to experience art in large numbers at the Pori Art Museum. The program tailored for Art Testers has been designed by the museum’s own pedagogical team in collaboration with artists Anna-Sofia Sysser and Heikki Hautala, as well as dance movement therapist Kaisa Selin. Visual artist Laura Lilja has created an artwork exclusively revealed to the testers.

In the 2017-2018 school year, the Art Testers mega-project includes a total of 55 art institutions or groups. Pori Art Museum was selected as one of the sites in Satakunta. Every eighth-grader will visit two cultural institutions: one within their own region or nearby area, and the other in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

This three-year Art Testers project aims to reach up to 200,000 young people and their teachers. It is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and Svenska kulturfonden, and coordinated by the Association of Finnish Children’s Cultural Centers.
