AD HOC – The Collection of Kristian and Kirsi Gullichsen

In 2014, architects Kristian and Kirsi Gullichsen donated a significant collection of 135 artworks to Pori Art Museum. AD HOC – Collection Kristian and Kirsi Gullichsen consists mainly of works by prominent Finnish and Nordic artists, as well as pieces by leading French modernists.

The collection can be divided into three thematical lines. The earliest works in the collection represent French modernism and can be linked to the exhibition history of Galerie Artek. Galerie Artek was a pioneering art gallery in Helsinki led by Kristian Gullichsen’s mother Maire Gullichsen. The second thematical line consists of works by architects and art related to architecture. The third line is devoted to current contemporary art.
